Job Title: Customer Advocate

Position Summary
At Metron, the Customer Excellence team is a key driver of the company culture that revolves around providing a high-quality customer experience. The focus of this role is addressing customer queries, resolving technical issues, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction at every interaction. The role will typically be the be the first point of contact for our customers and will play a key role in maintaining the customer-centric focus of our company. The ideal person will be patient, a problem-solver and an independent thinker who excels in collaboration with teammates to solve complex problems.
Position Responsibilities
- Customer Interaction: Engage with customers through multiple channels, including phone, email, and Teams online meetings, to understand customer needs and answer product questions. Customers are our most important asset and Customer Advocates are a key driver of their success.
- Technical Acumen: Possess a genuine interest in learning technical concepts and becoming a product expert with Metron products.
- Advocacy: Act as an advocate for our customers by sharing feedback and issues to the Operations Manager and Leadership with the goal of improving the overall experience our customers have with Metron.
- Positive attitude: Customer advocates must maintain a calm and positive attitude, even in difficult situations.
- Strong problem-solving skills: Customer advocates need to be able to quickly work through a queue of outstanding customer issues, balancing urgent tickets and other interruptions to regular work. Being able to dig into an issue and seek out the solution is critical.
- Time management: Advocates need to be able to manage their time effectively to complete the given work and proactively inform leadership if time frames cannot be met.
- Flexibility: Customer advocates need to quickly adapt to changing situations, such as dealing with different types of customers or addressing new issues.
- Teamwork: Must work effectively cross functionally to resolve customer issues.
- Escalation Management: Efficiently determine when an issue needs to be escalated to the next level of support and ensure proper handoff and communication to customers.
- Training and Education: Organize and conduct training sessions for customers as needed on Metron’s WaterScope software.

The position…
Transparent Technologies, a division of Metron-Farnier, is looking for individuals experienced in meter and installation projects. This position will report to the Field Services Manager. The position will include multiple roles with potentially a high amount of travel. The primary focus will be on field repairs, installations and other service work. When not in the field, a warehouse production role would be assumed in our Boulder, CO location.
The right person will be responsible for traveling to job sites to install equipment, troubleshoot problems as needed, and clean up the job after completion. We are looking for motivated individuals with a great attitude who are willing to learn and accept direction, have an attention to detail and take attendance seriously. The position will travel to customer sites to provide a variety of product support while contributing to customer satisfaction through improved system performance. High performing systems and happy customers will lead to good references and more sales orders. The field service group will serve both the utilities and real estate sales channels.
The top job duties will include:
- Train and demonstrate full understanding of company’s products: Registers, water meters, gateways, software.
- Field work will include the following:
- Maintenance of meters, registers, antennas, and gateway products
- Meter and register replacements
- Meter and register installations (pilots and change out projects)
- Gateway replacements
- Troubleshooting (antennas, register configuration, etc.)
- Customer training
- Document all field work using methods prescribed by field service manager and lead.
- Professional, courteous attitude while working with customers
- Follow all safety regulations
- When not on a field assignment work will be assigned to one of the production areas.
- Field techs will be expected to operate and maintain the meter test benches when in the facility.
- If needed, support the customer service and sales teams
- Other duties as assigned.
Here is what we need…
- Technical aptitude to learn our products including Windows and cloud-based software
- Follow all directions and training of the field services manager and lead.
- Regularly lift and/or move 50 lbs.
- Must be willing and able to install and/or service water meters in pits, crawl spaces and under mobile homes.
- Maintain assigned computer and equipment in good working order. Store the equipment in the designated area when in the facility.

- Ability and willingness to travel to customer locations to perform scheduled work and installation of products
- Travel up 75% monthly, per diem and expenses paid.
Here are the skills, experience, and education we are seeking…
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to effectively communicate (oral and written)
- Experience with high volume, fast paced production/warehouse environments
- Intermediate computer and worksheet skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Ability to work unsupervised while travelling and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of trade specific tools for installations and correct use of equipment is preferred.

- Previous experience working in the construction or similar industry a plus but not required.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments in a variety of terrains
- Ability to travel between job sites both in and out of state.
This is a full-time position with a full breadth of benefits following an initial evaluation period. Some flexible work hours will be required. Up to 75% travel may be required. However, the scheduling practice intends for alternating weeks of travel vs. in facility time and most weekends at home. T-shirts and jackets provided. Hourly wage is $25/hour plus incentive while in the field.

Position Summary
The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects related to Metron’s software, data, and hardware product lines. This role requires an understanding of various IIoT and SaaS technologies, strong project management skills, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products on time, and within budget. The successful candidate will report directly to the VP of Engineering and Product Development and will play a key role in driving our product development strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution:
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Coordinate and manage project resources, including team members and third-party contractors or consultants.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineering, product managers, marketing, and other departments to ensure project alignment and integration.

- Manage stakeholder expectations and deliver regular project updates.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably in the (I)IoT or SaaS industries.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and those with interdependencies.
- Proficiency in both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable with the chaos of a rapidly growing – and changing – business.
- Prefer a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Preferred Skills:
- PMP or similar project management certification.
- Familiarity with hardware, software, and mobile app development.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of data analytics and machine learning as they apply to (I)IoT.
